The winner of the last two achievements of the Tour de France, Jonas Vengenaard, who is on the final part of the rehabilitation of his fractured left collarbone and multiple ribs, was left out of the Danish Olympic team and will not compete in Paris 2024.
The Scandinavian country’s federation announced on Saturday a squad consisting of Mikkel Norsgard Bjerg, Mads Pedersen, Mattias Skjelmose and Mochael Morkov, the representatives in the French capital between July 27 and August 4.

Vengenaard, 27, was discharged on April 16 after spending 12 days hospitalized after a fateful fall in the Tour of the Basque Country and is already preparing for the purpose of being physically fit to defend the two-time championship in the Tour de France, to be held between June 29 and July 21.
In November of last year, the best athlete of 2022 in Denmark had expressed his willingness to be part of the national contingent at the Olympic Games for the first time, although he had anticipated that “I don’t think the route is particularly suitable for me” and that coach Anders Lund had not guaranteed his presence according to the characteristics of the circuit in Paris.
